Wax ointment (Unguentum Cereum) is a preparation for external use, consisting of yellow wax (Cera flava) and peanut oil (Oleum Arachidis). Peanut oil is used for skin protection and nourishes dry, scaly skin. Wax ointment also serves as a basis for the preparation of other ointments.
