With the help of iron, the blood pigment haemoglobin, which supports the red blood cells in supplying the body cells with oxygen, is built up. The need for iron is particularly high during menstruation, pregnancy and breastfeeding. In older people, iron absorption through the intestine may be reduced. Folic acid is particularly important in those who wish to have children and during pregnancy, as folic acid (folate) contributes to the growth of maternal tissue. Floradix® Iron Folic Acid Tablets provide very readily available iron(II) even at normal requirements, cover the daily folic acid requirement and contain other B vitamins as well as vitamin C for better iron absorption.
