Cod liver oil is a watery, light to brownish-yellow oil that is mainly obtained from fish liver. Cod liver oil, when applied superficially, is said to care for the skin, support wound healing, soften scabs and dandruffs, and also aid with burns. Apply ointment to the affected area several times a day or apply it as thickly as possible to gauze and secure it with a bandage.
