Chicken Blood Stalk Ointment
The chicken’s blood stem (Spatholobi caulis) is a Chinese plant with a liana-like habit. The name comes from the reddish sap that oozes out when the bark is scratched. The plant, which is native to China, is mainly used in TCM (Ji Xue Teng), where it is used to detoxify the liver and kidneys. When processed as an ointment, the positive effect on lymph flow is utilized, and as a TCM ointment it is used for the care of diabetic feet.
