Aetheroleum Anisi is obtained from anise fruits or star anise fruits through steam distillation. The main constituents of anise oil are essential oils. However, the sweet tasting and intensively smelling essential trans-anethole is the main component. Its traditional use is for light spasmodic stomachand intestinalcomplaints, such as bloating or flatulence and as an expectorant remedy against a cold-related cough.
