Description
Edelweiss Ointment
Hardly any other native plant is surrounded by such mysticism as the edelweiss (Leontopodium alpinum). It is sung about, is the symbol of countless clubs and badges and is embossed on coins. The flower also had a very special significance for the Austrian imperial couple Elisabeth and Franz Josef I. As a coveted souvenir in mountain tourism, it was placed under nature protection in Austria as early as 1886. Plants from wild cultivations are therefore used in the production of Edelweiss ointment. The high antioxidant content in the external preparation results in soothing moisturizing care, which should also be mentioned as natural UV protection and thus helps the skin to prevent premature ageing.
