The dipeptide cystine consists of two molecules cysteine. If required, cystine and cysteine can be converted into each other. For the human organism cystine is an important source for bound sulphur. High concentrations of this amino acid can be found in keratin, a group of fibre-forming structural proteins, which are the main components of hair and nails, but also of the skin. Cystine 500 mg GPH Capsules are obtained by acid hydrolysis of keratins and are not of animal origin.
