The restharrow (Ononis spinosa L.) is a member of the legume family (Fabaceae). The roots are harvested and dried in autumn. The ingredients of the root, whose medicinal properties were mentioned before Christ, are essential oil, isoflavones, tannins and sitosterol. The restharrow is said to be antibacterial, draining, blood purifying, diuretic (diuretic) and anti-inflammatory. Therefore, it is used for urinary tract infections, cystitis and kidney gravel.
